John 17:3 says, “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” Knowing God is the key to eternal life, so it must be pretty important. What does this phrase “knowing God” really mean? Adam and Eve knew God in the Garden of Eden, but that was lost when they sought their own knowledge of good and evil. As we seek to know God more we become transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2), and conformed to the image of His Son (Romans 8:29).
